nas·tur·tium

This work interrogates how classification systems construct belonging. Using nasturtium—an invasive species in the Bay Area—I focus on what is labeled, overlooked, and displaced. Terms such as native, introduced, and invasive reveal human attempts to order and control our surroundings.

I use intaglio etchings, shaping copper plates to the contour of each form so the print operates as both image and object. This work mirrors the logic of spread while resisting containment.

Who gets to belong, and who ultimately decides?
